Welcome to the Getting Started Guide for Easy DVD Clone!
Here are the tips to successfully clone your DVDs:
| • | If you think your DVD's may be protected/encrypted, please Click here for more information. |
| • | Ensure the DVD you wish to copy is clean (no finger prints) and not scratched. |
| • | Use high quality recordable DVD disc like Mitsubishi, Verbatim, Sony, and Fuji ("Memorex" disc is NOT recommended). Avoid using cheap discs. Always refer to the DVD writer manufacturer for the list of recommended discs for your DVD writer drive. |
| • | Ensure you have sufficient hard-disk space (at least 4.3 GB). |
| • | If you are using external USB DVD drive, please make sure it is connected to the computer directly without using USB hub. |
| • | Read through this Getting Started Guide. |
| • | If you encounter any errors when copying or burning, please refer to our FAQ page. |
How to clone a DVD movie?

1. Choose the Source type.
| • | If you are copying from the DVD disc, please choose and select the source drive; if you are copying from the hard drive, please choose and select the source folder that contains the DVD movie files. |
Note: Please avoid to use Network folders as the source/target folder.
Note: Some DVD player software automatically start up when a DVD is inserted. Please make sure that you closed the DVD player before starting copy.
2. Choose the Target type.
| • | If you are copying to the DVD disc, please choose and select the target drive where you wish to burn the copied DVD files; if you are copying to the hard drive, please choose and select the target folder for storing the copied DVD movie files. |
Note: If you choose "DVD" as the Target type, remember to insert a blank DVD disc into the chosen burner drive.
3. Click the button. (This step is optional)
| • | Choose a Mode for cloning. |
| • | Complete DVD - Choose this mode to copy the entire DVD, including all menus, extras, subtitles and audio tracks. (Default) |
| • | Main Movie - Choose this mode to copy only the feature film. Menus and bonus material will not be copied. If you play a DVD created with this mode on a DVD player, the movie will start immediately. There will be no need to navigate through annoying menus, warnings and previews. |
| • | Split to 2 DVDs - Choose this mode to split the entire DVD into two DVD discs. With this mode you can clone any DVD with no loss of content or quality. Please do not choose this mode when copying episode DVDs (i.e. television programs on DVD). |
| • | Burn to DVD9 (DL, 8.5 GB) - Choose this mode to copy the entire DVD on to a DVD9 disc (i.e. Double/Dual Layer DVD with 8.5 GB capacity). With this mode you can clone any DVD with no loss of content or quality. |
| • | Select the Temp path on your hard drive for storing the temporary DVD files. |
| • | Click the "Advanced..." button. |
| • | Mark the Audio tracks and Subtitles that you would like to have in your DVD clone. |
Note: Leaving out unwanted audio tracks and subtitles can optimize the video quality of your DVD clone.
| • | Select the Target Size that defines the amount of data the DVD clone can contain: |
Note: Only change this setting when the program report that the target disc does not have enough space.

4. Check that all settings are correct and then click the button to start cloning your DVD!
| • | If you only have one DVD drive, you'll be prompted to remove the source DVD once it's been copied, and insert a recordable DVD disc when it's time to burn. If you have a reader and a burner, you can put the source DVD movie in the reader and a blank DVD disc in the burner and complete the clone process in one step. |
Note: If you insert a DVD+/-RW into the burner drive, the program will automatically erase it before burning start.
